Russian Dutch Forum

Russian-Dutch Higher Education Cooperation Forum was held at the Financial University on 3 October 2019.

The Russian-Dutch Forum was held in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of the Netherlands, the Dutch Organization for Internationalization in Education (Nuffic), Nuffic Neso Dutch education center and the National Erasmus + Office in Russia.

As Alexander Linnikov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, said in his welcoming address, the Forum’s major goal was to discuss specific issues in the Russian-Dutch higher education cooperation development, including the launch of joint programs, academic mobility programs, joint research programs, cross-cultural communication projects and best practices within the EU Erasmus+ program. All these goals were successfully achieved with contribution of Freddy Weima, Director General of Nuffic Neso, and Olga Oleynikova, Director of the National Erasmus+ Office in Russia. The Forum coincided with the centennial of the Financial University and 10-year jubilee of the Nuffic Neso Office in Russia, in this respect Jerke Vershoor, the Head of the Office, received congratulations from Financial University.

Within the Forum`s framework Russian participants had the opportunity to meet representatives of such high-ranked Dutch universities as University of Groningen, Leiden University, Erasmus University Rotterdam, University of Twente, etc. the cooperation agreement between the School of Finance and Accounting at the Saxion University of Applied Sciences and Financial University was signed. The two universities will launch a joint bachelor degree program in International Finance.

The Forum provided experts with the ground to share the best practices gained in internationalization of educational process. It also opened a new horizon for joining efforts with the Dutch partner universities’ representatives that had presented their educational programs at the networking session and matchmaking fair.
