Department of Public Administration and Municipal Management

 The Department of Public Administration and Municipal Management was established on November 22, 2012 in accordance with the resolution of the Financial University Academic Council. It was the successor of the Department of Public Administration, Municipal Management and Corporate Governance.

 The Department's key objective is to offer a bachelor degree program in Public Administration and Municipal Management and a master degree program in Public Administration and Municipal Management.

The Department staff is engaged in training, methodology development, research, information distribution, analytical work, expert opinion preparation and consulting activities.

 The Department's mission is to train highly-qualified civil servants, to form a pool of managers who have deep knowledge of the profession, well-developed leadership and managerial skills, communicative skills and social competences, are aiming for success, have the ability to quickly and efficiently make managerial decisions.

 The Department staff has proved it is able to train and educate a new generation of managers of various levels while following the principles of high professionalism, patriotism, national unity and recognizing the value of continuous education.

The Department's goal is to generate and disseminate new knowledge in the field of public administration and municipal management not only in Russia but at the international level (primarily, in the CIS countries), develop and use advanced management technologies, including territorial management technologies, which, in the final analysis, contribute to the Russian economy growth and competitiveness improvement.

 The Department has a bachelor degree program in Public Administration and Municipal Management on offer. This is a practice-oriented program that allows the students to acquire a number of professional skills, knowledge, and managerial competencies that are needed for working efficiently in the field of public administration and municipal management.

The Department has a master degree program in Public Administration and Municipal Management (with the concentration in Public Administration) on offer. The program's goal is to train managers who are ready to make use of the modern trend in public administration development that manifests itself in the increasing use of management technologies that used to be a characteristic feature of business operations. The program relevance and innovative features are due to the increasing complexity of the issues that the system of management of technologies faces in the public sector. The program aims at training highly-qualified, competent senior level managers who could work for the public administration offices and departments in the executive bodies at the federal and regional levels.
