Several thousand international students study at the Financial University. A significant number of those international students are the representatives of Vietnam. A concert celebrating Russian-Vietnamese friendship is held at the Financial University every year. Russia-Vietnam: A Dear Soul concert was held on 16 April 2019. It was dedicated to the Year of Vietnam in Russia. Rousing dances, loud songs, students playing unique musical instruments, bright national costumes, performers' expressiveness and inexpressible emotions captured the audience.  

The Financial University management, University students, representatives of the Banking Academy of Vietnam in the Russian Federation, representatives of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Russian Federation, Voice of Russia and Voice of Vietnam radio correspondents, Russia Today International Information Agency representatives attended the friendship event.

Alexander Linnikov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, greeted the audience and said that Russia and Vietnam were united by many things, incl. long-lasting friendship, and a common quest for peace during the most complex years of the 20th century, joint productive efforts, values of loyalty and companionship shared by the Russian and Vietnamese peoples. Speaking on his own behalf and on behalf of prof. M.A. Eskindarov, the Financial University Rector, he thanked the audience and wished all to keep the warm friendly relations as they were.

Mr. Ly Tien Hung, First Secretary of the Education Department of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Russian Federation spoke to the audience and said he was very pleased he could address the audience of a renowned University that produced such highly-qualified experts of all ethnic origins. He expressed great gratitude to the University management and teaching staff for the efforts they made daily when teaching students and for the knowledge they transferred to the students.

The student performers prepared a wide range of acts they offered to the audience during the event. They danced with the drums, performed a dance titled 'Flowers' Waltz',  a dance titled 'Calligraphy', played Vietnamese musical instruments, performed as Vietnamese soldiers, organized a flash mob titled 'Move on, my Vietnam' among other things.  At the end of the evening, the performers on stage sang the song On Turbulent Youth together with the audience.  It was unforgettable. The holiday is not over yet. The Financial University Week of Vietnam dedicated to the Vietnamese culture will last 3 more days, so you still have the time to learn about the traditions and values of the Republic of Vietnam.
