History of the Vladimir Campus

The Vladimir Campus of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation traces its roots back to 1963, when it first opened as an independent study and consultation center. Until June 29, 2012, it operated as the Vladimir Branch of the All-Russian Correspondence Finance and Economics Institute (VZFEI). Between 1967 and 1970, it held branch status, operating as a faculty from 1970 to 1997. In February 1997, it was re-established as a branch (by Order No. 245 of the Ministry of General and Professional Education of the Russian Federation, dated February 24, 1997). In 2012, following the merger of VZFEI with the Financial University, it became an official structural division: the Vladimir Campus of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

In 2018, the campus celebrated its 55th anniversary, recognized as the pioneer of financial and economic professional training in the Vladimir region.

Over its 59+ years of operation, the campus has graduated more than 13,000 professionals in economics, finance, management, and public administration.

Vladimir Campus Today

is the only state-run, specialized higher education institution in the region, serving as the premier hub for training economic and financial professionals.

Our campus is home to approximately 1,000 undergraduate and master's students studying economics, finance, and management. We are proud of our highly qualified faculty: over 95% hold advanced academic degrees (Ph.D. or Doctor of Sciences) and professorial titles (Professor or Associate Professor). Furthermore, many of our instructors are industry practitioners—executives and professionals from organizations directly aligned with our degree programs. Beyond academics, the campus is driven by a dynamic administrative team and a highly active Student Council, fostering a vibrant and supportive campus life.

Building Strong Partnerships with Industry Leaders

We actively develop collaborative partnerships with employers across all major fields and levels of our degree programs, working with more than 50 regional organizations that serve as partners and prospective employers for Financial University students — including host sites for student internships. Our partners include territorial bodies, executive and legislative authorities such as the departments and directorates of the Vladimir Region and City of Vladimir Administrations, the Legislative Assembly of the Vladimir Region, the Directorate of the Federal Tax Service for the Vladimir Region, the Federal Treasury Directorate for the Vladimir Region, the Federal Antimonopoly Service Directorate for the Vladimir Region, and the Branch of the Social Fund of the Russian Federation for the Vladimir Region, as well as numerous financial organizations including regional branches of Sberbank, VTB Bank, Moscow Industrial Bank, Rosselkhozbank, and Promsvyazbank. We also collaborate with leading companies such as Abi Product, Teleperformance, Big Prime, and Audit Professional, the Vladimir Region State Autonomous Institution "Business Incubator," the Chamber of Tax Consultants, and many other prominent regional organizations.

Research Activities

The research conducted at our campus is highly relevant to real-world practice. Between 2015 and 2025, the campus successfully implemented over 50 research initiatives, including academic grants, R&D (Research and Development) projects, and other scholarly endeavors. The findings from these projects have been featured in both national and international academic publications.
