FinU International Olympiad for Youth

For the ninth year in a row, we are holding the FinU International Olympiad for Youth. The number of participants in the Olympiad has increased significantly during this time, and most of them have become students of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

If you want to study at one of the oldest universities in Russia, get real knowledge in finance, economics, international law, IT and other disciplines, then this is your chance – don't miss it! The winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad receive tangible benefits upon admission to the FinU:

• the winners of the Olympiad are granted the right to be admitted to FinU state-funded basis as part of the independent selection of FinU according to the quota for the education of foreign citizens and stateless persons established by the Government of the Russian Federation.
• the winners of the Olympiad receive a 50% discount for the entire period of study upon admission to the FinU.

 Who can take part in the Olympiad?

• Foreign citizens and stateless persons, including compatriots living abroad, mastering educational programs of basic general and secondary general education.
• Persons who have an internal passport of the Russian Federation with a permanent residence permit in the territory of the Russian Federation are not allowed to participate in the Competition.

  When is the Olympiad taking place?

Competitions will be held from October 2023 to March 2024 in two stages:

1. The first stage (qualifying) will be held as a portfolio competition (participants must send a motivation letter) – October 1, 2023 - March 15, 2024
2. The second stage (final) will be held as a computer testing with mandatory monitoring of passing the test (remotely using proctoring technology) – December 1, 2023 - March 15, 2024.

 How to take part in the Olympiad?

It is necessary to register in the Personal account of the Olympiad participant using the LINK. Registration is open from October 1, 2023.

The main objectives of the Olympiad are:

• attracting the most qualified alumni of foreign educational organizations to participate in the Olympiad
• popularization, attractiveness, and assistance in professional orientation, as well as opportunities for higher education in Russia, including at the expense of the federal budget
• ensuring openness, transparency, and objectivity in decision-making.

Who can participate?

Foreign citizens and stateless persons are invited to participate in the Olympiad on a voluntary and free basis, including compatriots living abroad, mastering educational programs of basic general and secondary general education, as well as alumni of foreign educational organizations.

The purpose of participation in the International Olympiad

 The winners of the Olympiad, by the decision of the Academic Council, are granted the right to be admitted to the FinU under bachelor's degree programs in the areas of training corresponding to the profile of the Olympiad, within the quota of independent selection of foreign citizens to study in the main educational programs of higher education in the Russian Federation at the expense of the federal budget allocations.

 The winners of the Olympiad, by the decision of the Academic Council, upon successful completion of the entrance tests, are given a 50% discount for the entire period of study for places under contracts for the provision of paid educational services for bachelor's degree programs in the areas of training corresponding to the profiles of the Olympiad.

Thanks to the International Olympiad, my dream came true and I am studying at a top university in Russia, it greatly increased my self-esteem, gave me the opportunity to test my strength and knowledge on a platform independent of the school, to understand what I can and where I need to work more. It taught me to value time and the ability to prioritize what to sacrifice for the sake of extra time to sit over textbooks. It really encourages me to develop further, read more, communicate with interesting people, and move forward. I attended international exhibitions of education in Tashkent, listened to representatives of universities, analyzed, read information on the Internet. And almost immediately I realized that the FinU is mine, what I was looking for and found!

I entered the FinU according to the FinU International Olympiad for Youth. I really like my friendly group and the pleasant atmosphere at the university, interesting and strong teachers, the presence of many events, a delicious canteen and the proximity of the sports complex to the university.

I learned about the Olympiad from a friend from my country, who briefly told me about it. Then, on the website of the FinU, I studied detailed information about the stages and conditions of selection, used demo versions.  I decided to enroll in this Olympiad, because I wanted to enter the FinU. And also because I had experience of participating in such Olympiads. This Olympiad gave me the opportunity to study in the desired concentration on a state-funded basis, develop in various projects, and also move to Russia. I have repeatedly recommended friends and acquaintances to enroll for the FinU International Olympiad for Youth.

The Olympiad gave me the opportunity to show my acquired knowledge at the bachelor's degree and apply it for admission to the master's program, thanks to this I managed to enter and study at my native university, where I had previously studied. I was following the website of the FinU looking for information about admission to the master's program, when I saw the news about this Olympiad, I decided to try my hand at it. I strongly advise every foreign citizen to try and show their strength and knowledge in this Olympiad, because it will give experience, the opportunity to enter one of the best universities!

Since my brother studied at the FinU, he actively promoted his university. At school, I tried to enter through the Olympiads, but I failed to achieve the desired result. I came to try my hand at the master's degree program, I had to be careful, because admission to it through the Olympics took place in April. This method is more interesting than taking exams and writing tests later in the summer, as it seems less competitive/easier. The main thing that I like about the FinU is that the student's work is more appreciated here than at other universities.​
