About department

The Center for European studies, educational services and consulting was established in 2019 on the basis of the European Union grant of the ERASMUS+ program "New Europe in a new world order" won in 2015 and successfully implemented in 2018. The center operates as an independent structural unit. The main activities of the Center are to provide research and educational services, consulting.

At the beginning of the XXI century, Europe faced problems, which now present a great interest for analysis, because they are quite important for Russia in terms of the development of relations in various areas (for example, on energy cooperation, electoral processes, regional cooperation, migration problems, etc.). Of course, the European Union remains and will continue to be ones of the main players in world politics.

The objective need for further development of cooperation between Europe and Russia is the main basis that determines the relevance and timeliness of the project "Center for European Studies, educational services and consulting". Russia is the largest country on the European continent with a long history and rich cultural traditions. Despite the complex international situation and domestic difficulties, as well as due to the significant economic, scientific, technical and military potential, the unique strategic position of its role as a guarantor of stability in Europe and the world is enduring. On the other hand, Europe is a unique civilizational entity that offers the experience of forming a multipolar and multicultural world. Being nationally diverse, it is at the same time united as a system of values of democracy and tolerance, which can contribute to the development of international relations in a positive direction.

Europe is currently facing multiple challenges that we are willing to help explore.  Thus, in 2015 it faced an acute problem of migration, the problems of multiculturalism. We also remember the Brexit in 2016-2017, the contradictions between Spain and Catalonia, the ambiguity of the results of election campaigns in France and Germany, which was a reflection of new trends in the life of Europe.

The center for European Studies attracts and works with leading scientists and experts from the Financial University, the MGIMO University, the Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and other Russian universities and research centers, as well as foreign experts.
