European Skateboarding Championship

Alexander Linnikov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, member of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Skateboarding Federation, attended the First European Skateboarding Championship that was held in Nizhny Novgorod on 12 October 2019. 

Sportsmen from 24 countries took part in the tournament. During the finals, Alexander Linnikov met with Ilya Vdovin, President of the Russian Skateboarding Federation, and Sabatino Aracu, President of the International Roller Sports Federation. 

Ilya Vdovin thanked the sportsmen for their appreciation of the tournament and said it was a historic competition. Sabatino Aracu said that many people were mistaken when they said that only Americans could hold skateboarding tournaments at such a high level. He said Russia had proved that it could hold competitions at a very high level. He added he would prefer if more such championships were organized.  

Aleksandr Kolbintsev, a Financial University graduate and a skateboarder, attended the tournament. He mentioned a significant contribution made by the Financial University and Alexander Linnikov to the skateboarding culture development. 

The First European Skateboarding Championship was held in Nizhny Novgorod on 8 – 12 October 2019. This prestigious sports event is the qualification stage for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo (Japan).
