A gala reception marking the 28th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow on 30 August 2019. 

On behalf of the Financial University and Mikhail Eskindarov, the University Rector, Alexander Linnikov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, and Maxim Kotelnikov, Deputy Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, greeted the Uzbek partners. 

The gala evening was opened by Botirjon Asadov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation, and Ilyas Umakhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia. When greeting the audience, Mr. Umakhanov stressed the importance and the enormous success of the joint efforts made by Russia and Uzbekistan in the field of education and research. 

The Financial University has always been at the forefront of bilateral academic cooperation and has made a significant contribution to training of highly qualified personnel who work for the benefit of the economy and financial system of Uzbekistan. Today 63 nationals of Uzbekistan study at our University: 19 of them are the first-year students who have just been enrolled.  

During the talks held in a friendly atmosphere, Ulugbek Aripov, First Secretary of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, and Alexander Linnikov discussed ways to further strengthen and develop the academic partnership, and a number of other specific issues. In particular, Mr. Asadov expressed his intention to visit the Financial University in the near future and hold a meeting with students who came from Uzbekistan.
